Privacy at Smart Campus Canada
Your family's data stays in Canada. Period.
We comply with the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
For Québec users, we comply with the Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information (Law 25), including explicit consent, breach reporting, and a designated privacy officer.
Wherever possible, learner data is processed and stored in Canadian regions.
You can access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time from your account settings.
What we collect
Account details (name, email, grade, province), learning activity (lessons completed, quiz scores, time spent), and the messages you send to AI tutors. We do not sell personal information — ever.
Students under 13
We require a parent or guardian to consent before any student under 13 creates an account. Marketing emails to minors are disabled by default and we do not run third-party advertising on student pages.
AI and learner content
Conversations with AI tutors are used to deliver the lesson and improve safety filters. We do not use student prompts to train external foundation models.
Service providers
We work with a short list of vetted Canadian and SOC 2 / ISO 27001 certified processors (hosting, email, analytics). Each is bound by a written data-processing agreement.
Retention
Active account data is kept while your account is open. After deletion, we purge personal records within 30 days, except where Canadian law requires longer (e.g. financial records: 7 years).
